Dr. Biden to discuss CCs, economic opportunities Community college professor and two-year college advocate Dr. Jill Biden will be the keynote speaker Jan. 27 at a conference on developing economic opportunities through innovative postsecondary education. Dr. Biden will address the importance of community colleges at the Center for American Progress event in Washington, D.C. Other speakers include Keith Bird, chancellor emeritus of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, who will discuss the “re-imagining” of community colleges for the 21st century, and Gail Mellow, president of LaGuardia Community College (New York), who will talk about models of postsecondary success for low-income individuals.
