​New CEOs

Rodney Ellis will serve as chancellor of Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC), effective Feb. 13. He currently serves as executive vice president at Atlanta Technical College (ATC) in Georgia. Ellis has served at ATC for 12 years, where he was also vice president of information technology, planning and development and director of institutional development. Previously, Ellis was an institutional effectiveness specialist at the Technical College System of Georgia and senior research specialist at the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation.

David Mathews is now president of the Oakland Community College (OCC) Auburn Hills Campus in Michigan. He joined OCC in 2002 as dean of academic and student affairs at the Southfield Campus. Mathews was named college-wide academic dean of business/information technology in August 2012. He also served as an adjunct economics faculty member and as liaison to the highly-respected Galileo Project, which encourages faculty members to take leadership roles in introducing innovative teaching techniques. Previously, Mathews served at Marygrove College as associate director of admissions, grant writer, Title IV program administrator and as a faculty member teaching such subjects as statistics, economics and business.

Carolyn Hull Anderson will serve as interim president at Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) in Maryland. She previously served as an associate professor at Morgan State University. Anderson is a former faculty member at BCCC, where she worked for about 30 years in various posts, including assistant to the associate dean of arts and science and director of the academic development program. She has also served as executive vice president and acting president at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College (Ohio) and as dean of academic services at Broome Community College (New York).

Appointments

Mike Kutzke will serve as dean of instruction for technical programs at Ridgewater College (Minnesota), effective Jan. 16. Kutzke, a community college alumnus, has been a faculty member at the college since 2004, teaching law enforcement and sociology. He has also taught at Fergus Falls Community College, Minnesota State University Moorhead and other institutions and served as police lieutenant.
